Information in line with IPEA expenditure reporting: 5 November 2025

This information is sourced from the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority (IPEA). They report on and audit parliamentarians’ work resources and staff travel expenses. They came into existence on 1 July 2017 and have reported from that time to current.

This information is gleaned from their website at ipea.gov.au and their listings on data.gov.au. The data here is intended to reflect that data, but also visualise it with charts for a more consumable way to look at the expenditure.

The data here only reflects two categories from their data:

  1. Former Prime Ministers that have left Parliament
  2. Surviving Spouse or De Facto Partner of Former Prime Ministers
Treat this as an insight into what IPEA reports on and is more a proof of concept. IPEA has a LOT of data for all Federal Parliamentarians and that working with that data efficiently isn't necessarily an easy task.
